Hunting and Fishing

Fort Benning has earned a reputation in the area as a sportsman's paradise and strives to maximize hunting and fishing opportunities for our Soldiers, Family Members, DoD Civilians, and guests. If you do intend to hunt or fish on the installation, it's important that you take the time to read the appropriate regulations and obtain the proper licenses.

News You Can Use

  • Fort Benning Temporary Weapons Policy - The current weapons policy has been reviewed and is being staffed through Garrison for approval of changes. Until the new weapons policy is released, DES will enforce the weapons policy as it was written in last year's USAIC 200-3 Hunting & Fishing Regulation. Once the new weapons policy is available it will be posted here and available in print at Outdoor Recreation.
  • Kings Pond Bass Overabundance - Information on exception to policy letters allowing fishermen to harvest largemouth bass 14" or less from Kings Pond without those fish counting against their daily creel limit.
