We have two of them, and they are named Dog Park I and Dog Park II. How creative! Dog Park I is located on the corner of Edwards and Carpenter streets on Main Post behind Faith Middle School. Dog Park II is located at the youth sports complex (Blue and French fields) on First Division Road.
Benning Conference Center
From the I-185 entrance, travel south on Lindsay Creek Parkway/First Division Road until it becomes Dixie Road. Dixie will take you to Main Post, where you'll turn right on Lumpkin Road and travel north to Morrison Avenue. Turn left and the conference center will be on your left.
From Benning Road, travel south onto Main Post via Sigerfoos Road. Turn right on Vibbert, then left on Ingersoll. At the three-way intersection of Ingersoll, Wold and Morrison, take Morrison left, and the conference center will be on your right.
From the Harmony Church entrance, take Eighth Division Road west until it joins First Division, then Dixie. From Dixie, turn right on Lumpkin, then left on Morrison, and you'll find the conference center on your left.
Blue and French Fields
These fields are home to youth sports fields and our newest dog park. They are located between Zuckerman and Running avenues. If you're coming from the I-185 gate, take Dixie Road west to First Division Road and turn right. First Division winds through the golf course and right past Blue and French Fields.
Building 4, McGinnis-Wickam Hall and Marshall Auditorium
Enter Fort Benning on I-185, and continue straight until it becomes Dixie Road on Main Post. Turn right onto Edwards Street, then left on Eckel Avenue. Building 4 will be on your right, with parking on the east and west. Marshall Auditorium is on the first floor at the center of the building, just beyond the main entrance facing Eckel Avenue.
Fishing is great at Kings Pond. This is where we host regular Kings Pond Campouts. From Main Post, take Dixie Road east till it becomes 1st Division, and follow 1st Division to 8th Division Road and bear right. Follow 8th Division approximately four miles to the end and go left on Hourglass Road. Follow Hourglass for approximately one mile and bear right onto the tank trail that leads to Kings Pond. From Kelley Hill, go left off Ivy Street onto 1st Division Road. Follow for approximately three miles, and go right on Cussetta Road. At stop sign, go left on 8th Division Road and follow to the end. Go left on Hourglass Road and follow for approximately one mile, bearing right onto to the tank trail that leads to Kings Pond.
Actually, you'll find very few "lemons" in this used car lot, where MWR patrons can sell their automobiles, trailers, RVs and cycles. The Lemon Lot is located on Main Post on Gaudette Street behind the Auto Skills Center on Marchant Avenue. From Dixie Road turn north on Ingersoll, then left on Gaudette, past the Java Cafe, car wash and laundromat. The Lemon Lot is on the left, a narrow strip of pavement alongside the road. Prices and contact information will be posted on each vehicle.
Middle School & Teen Headquarters
Middle School & Teen headquarters is on Baltzell Avenue on Main Post. Take Dixie Road to Lumpkin and turn north. From Lumpkin, turn right on Baltzell. Army Community Service will be on your left and WHINSEC on your right. ABOUT two blocks ahead, you'll find MS&T on your right on the corner of Baltzell and McIver.
Building 2783 is located at the end of Eckel Avenue on Main Post, just down the street from Smith Fitness Center, beside TIC Credit Union and across the street from the Family Entertainment Center. Still lost? Call 706-545-3328.
This is where you register for all CYSS programs. Parent Central is located in Building 104, Marchant Avenue, on Main Post. (Marchant is the street where Auto Skills is located.) From Dixie Road, turn north onto Ingersoll. Turn left on Marchant just past the Huddle House. Parent Central will be on the left. The phone number is 706-545-2079.
The recycling trailers are located near Building 5205 on Harmony Church; McBride Elementary School on Custer Road; Sayers Memorial Library on Wold Avenue; Building 1628 on Carey Street; CDC on Indianhead Road; Soldiers' Plaza on Dixie Road; Old Infantry Museum on Baltzell Ave.; Building 9236 between Mall Bowling Center and Class VI Shoppette on Marne.
Russ Park is where you'll find Russ Pool and Pond. It's where we host Family Fishing Nights. From the I-185 gate, take the Custer Road exit and turn right. Follow Custer to the traffic light and go left on Fort Benning Road. At the next intersection, take a right onto 10th Division Road. The first left will take you directly to Russ Park. From the Fort Benning Road gate, follow Fort Benning Road through the traffic light and turn right at the next intersection, 10th Division Road. The first left takes you directly to Russ Park. From Dixie Road, drive onto Main Post, past Soldiers' Plaza. Go right on Ingersoll Street (north) and follow it past the Wynnsong Theater and Doughboy Stadium. Cross Vibbert Avenue and take a right onto Vogel Avenue. Follow Vogel to Russ Park.
Wetherby Field is located off Custer Road on the south side of Highway 27/280 near the Sand Hill Access Control Point. The easiest way to access the field is to enter Fort Benning on I-185, travel east (turning left) on Custer Road, pass McGraw Village and the vacant access control point, and turn right onto Wetherby Field.
York Field is located in front of post headquarters, Building 4, on Eckel Avenue. It is across the street from Stewart-Watson Field which is adjacent to Smith Fitness Center. From Dixie Road, turn right on Edwards and take an immediate left on Eckel. York Field will be on the right. MWR hosts the annual Independence Celebration on York Field.
