The Destin Recreation
Area's 15 1/2 acres of land located on the shores of the Choctawhatchee
Bay provide active duty and retired military personnel, their families,
and DA civilians many ways to unwind and enjoy a tropical vacation just
220 miles south of Fort Benning. The recreation area is located only a
short drive from Florida's breathtaking beaches and the warm waters of
the Gulf of Mexico.

of 2 or 3 bedroom all with screened porch, patio and BBQ grill,
full kitchen, fully furnished, cable TV with DVD/VCR and more!

14 Apartment Mini-Suites –
With all the amenities of a hotel room plus a separate living area with
kitchenette.
* 54 Hotel Rooms – Include
cable TV with DVD/VCR, microwave and mini-fridge
* 46 RV Sites – Full hook-up
including cable TV, telephone, water, sewer and electric with
50 amp service. Adjacent to the RV area is a bathhouse, laundry facilities
and meeting pavilion.

Pets Our RV area is pet friendly with designated pet sites. We also
have limited pet cabins. Please make sure when making reservations
that you
specify if a pet cabin is required. Pets are not authorized in
hotels or apartments.
Destin Pet Policy
For Reservations:
Please call (850) 837-6423 Monday through Friday. Active Duty and Reservists
may make reservations six months in advance and all others 4 months in
advance.
Check-In:
4PM CST Check-Out: 11AM CST Guests are required to show a
military identification (ID) at time of check-in. Sponsor or eligible
family member over the age of 18 must be present at the time of check-in
and accompany all guests while staying at the Destin Recreation Center. Sponsors or eligible family members must be over the age of 18 to
reserve guest units. Active duty personnel may make reservations
six months out and all others may make reservations four months out.

Guests using the Marina must provide their Military/DOD ID
card, proof of completion of an approved boater’s safety course and
on-the-water safety brief for all equipment operators prior to
reservation or rental agreement completion.
No motorized equipment may be rented or operated by persons
under 16 yrs old.
Operators 22 yrs of age and older may complete the boater’s
safety course and exam online at
Guests staying on the property with lodging reservations may
reserve pontoons, fishing boats and waverunners from thirty days in
advance to 24 hours prior to departure.
Reservations departures are from 8 AM until 10 AM only.
Any equipment not reserved 24 hrs prior to usage is an open
rental and can be reserved by any ID card holder.
Contact and credit card info must be provided at the time of
reservation, and a deposit equal to the minimum rental time per vessel
will be charged if reservation is not fulfilled.
Cancellations must be made prior to twelve (12) hours before
requested rental time. Reservations are held for thirty minutes before
being returned to open rental.
Things to do along the Emerald Coast
The fun does not stop at
the Recreation Area's borders. Destin offers many exciting attractions,
including shopping, night-clubs and a wide variety of restaurants.
Vacationers can spend countless hours on any of the area's numerous
world-class golf courses, or drive a short distance to
Northwest Florida’s Zoo, Indian
museum, the
Gulfariumwhich is worlds
oldest marine show aquarium,
Big Kahuna’s water park,
The Track Recreation Park
, and so much more! The recreational possibilities are endless.
Eligible personnel can also take advantage of nearby Eglin Air Force
Base's commissary, PX, medical and recreation facilities.

There is a
four night minimum on Beach Houses and a three night minimum on
Apartments and no requirement on hotel rooms or RV sites.
RV sites are available up to 30 days. Cancellation
must be made seven days in advance to avoid a payment
penalty.
