Special Childcare Programs
Volunteer Child Care in Unit Settings
VCCUS is a volunteer-based childcare program that allows for on-site care during meetings and events organized by military units, Army Community Service groups or Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
Through VCCUS, Outreach Services will provide training to volunteers from the military unit or organization. The program is designed to allow the exchange of free and temporary childcare services during unit sessions when the demand is high or when child development center services are not available.
Parents and guardians of children in VCCUS must be attending the same function and must remain at the site while their child is under volunteer care. Units interested in the VCCUS program should contact Outreach Services for more information.
Short Term Alternative Child Care
The STACC program is used for on-site child care during meetings and social gatherings that meet the needs of the Fort Benning community. Events may include, but are not limited to: Community Spouse's Club events, volunteer appreciation luncheons, religious functions and family readiness group meetings.
Child, Youth and School Services provide the staff to care for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years during the event. All childcare staff members are trained and qualified through CYS Services.
Organizations who wish to take advantage of STACC during their meetings can make arrangements through Outreach Services.
