Can my
Chain of Command do routine room inspections on my room and should I be
present in my room during inspections? Per USAIC
Regulation 600-19 (Single Soldier Quality of Life) Paragraph 3-6 covers
Inspections and states: "Commanders will retain full authority and
responsibility to conduct health and welfare and other inspections and to
enter/or authorize others to enter rooms, under appropriate circumstances,
such as proper searches. The necessary inspections or check made by the
leadership can and should be accomplished in a manner without harassing
Soldiers. The frequency of these checks should be determined by the condition
of existing facilities and the demonstrated performance of each Soldier. Unit
Single Soldier Quarters SOPs, which incorporate the provisions of this
regulation, will be the inspection standard. Common use areas: i.e.,
stairwells, landings, hallways, showers, latrines, laundry areas, and day
rooms will continue to be inspected on a daily basis." What is
the policy for alcohol in the barracks? Per USAIC
Regulation 600-19 (Single Soldier Quality of Life) Paragraph 3-8 covers
Alcohol and states: "Use of alcohol is authorized; abuse of alcohol is
not. There are no restrictions on the type or amount of alcohol stored or
consumed in Soldiers quarters by any Soldier 21 years of age or older.
Soldiers below the legal drinking age will not store or purchase alcohol, nor
will it be stored or purchased for them. It is a violation of Are
visitors allowed in the barracks? Per USAIC
Regulation 600-19 (Single Soldier Quality of Life) Paragraph 3-9 Covers
Visitations and states: "Liberal visitation is authorized within the
following guidelines: a. Visitors and length
of their stay must be agreed upon by all occupants of a room prior to the
visit. Visitors will not be allowed to move freely about the barracks but
will sign in with the Charge of Quarters (if utilized) and be escorted by the
Soldier they are visiting at all times.
