The Fort Benning Child Development Centers believe that every child has value and must be treated with dignity and respect.  We strive to provide a safe and caring environment that will foster the social, emotional, physical, and creative development of children.

Our curriculum is based on the "Creative Curriculum" for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.  All programs are age appropriate and based on developmental stages of children.  Parent participation is encouraged in order to make our developmental program a success.

Fort Benning CYS operates three Full Day and one Hourly care child care centers.   Fees are based on Total Family Income.  CYS also provides opportunities for special openings and on-site child care.  Contact Judy Cobb at (706) 545-2079/DSN:  835-2079 for additional information!

Volunteer Child Care in Unit Settings (VCCUS)

VCCUS is a volunteer-based childcare program that allows for on-site care during meetings and events organized by military units, Army Community Service groups or Morale Welfare and Recreation.

Through VCCUS, Outreach Services will provide childcare training to volunteers from the military unit or organization. Therefore, the program is designed to allow the exchange of free and temporary childcare services during unit sessions when the demand for childcare is high, or when Child Development Center services are not available.

Parents and guardians of children in VCCUS must be attending the same on-post function, and must remain at the site while their child is under volunteer care. Units that are interested in the VCCUS program may call Judy Cobb at Outreach Services at (706) 545-2079/DSN: 835-2079.

Short Term Alternative Child Care (STACC)

The STACC program is used for on-site childcare during meetings and social gatherings that meet the needs of the Fort Benning community. These events may include, but are not limited to: Enlisted Spouses Club and Officers' Spouses Club events, volunteer appreciation luncheons, religious functions and family readiness groups.

Child and Youth Services provide the staff to care for children between the ages 6 weeks and 12 years during the event. STACC increases the capability of Child Development Services hourly care program as well as making meeting attendance more attractive to parents. On-site care is convenient for parents and all childcare staff members are trained and qualified through CYS.

Organizations who wish to take advantage of STACC during their meetings can make arrangements through Outreach Services. For more information, call Judy Cobb at (706) 545-2079/DSN: 835-2079
