Respite Care is temporary child care for the purpose of relieving parental stress and to provide a nurturing and developmental appropriate environment for children. FAP advocates will evaluate each case and speak directly with the Family to determine their needs. Families may receive respite care when attending: parenting classes, individual/couples counseling, support groups, or for a stress break due to Family crisis, deployment, or reunion. There is no cost to the Families for this service.
Parental Stress Relief Program is designed to provide stress relief to spouses to deployed Soldiers. FAP coordinates with CYC (Tot Town) to provide respite child care once a month in an effort to promote positive healthy Families during deployment. Not only does this program provide respite for the parent left behind, but also quality time for children to pay and learn together.
Marriage Retreats co sponsored by FAP and the Chaplains Family Life Center for Soldiers and Families as part of the reunion process when Soldiers return from deployment.
